Easy and Healthy Black Tea


Nothing better to start your day with easy and healthy cup of tea. This simple warm cup provides us with energy and warmth and the taste never fails to amazed me. Aroma filled with spices like ginger and cardamom and herbs like mint and basil makes it healthy drink. Herbs and spices provides us with antioxidants and helps in strengthening immune system. In addition you can cut on calories too by avoiding milk.

Ingredients

Makes 2 cup

2 cups water

2 tsp sugar/ 2 tbsp honey( save calories by adding honey)

Half tsp of herbal tea leaves

1-2 cardamom crushed - depends on taste

2-3 leaves of basil/mint according to taste

half an inch ginger grated

few drops of Lemon juice -optional

Method

Pour the water into a saucepan. Smash the whole spices up roughly in a pestle and mortar and grate the ginger. Add the spices and ginger to the saucepan, along with the sugar.

Now bring the water to boil, stirring gently. After the first boil add herbs .You’ll need to keep an eye on it, as it boils very quickly.

Just after 2-3 boils ,strain into a teacup and healthy warm tea is ready to sip.
